A happy and prosperous New Year to everyone. Rather unsurprisingly this month AMG will be taking up the New Year theme and its possibilities in both the articles and competitions.
No doubt, after all the festive indulgence losing a few pounds and getting fit will be very much on the minds of many of us, so we are featuring a number of interviews with experts in the Health Channel on healthy eating and getting fit.
 Diet doctor Judith Wills, author of bestselling nutrition book The Diet Bible, provides some good food advice and other no-nonsense approaches to losing weight. Plus health and diet expert Patrick Holford gives us his top tips for recovering from Christmas and New Years food and drink indulgences.
For those who find diets impossible to stick with, Dr Matthew Mills, writer of a new fitness book, Mind and Body Metamorphosis, talks about why people give up on diets and the need to develop mental focus and improve levels of fitness.
 And if you think that herbal remedies are the way to improve your wellbeing, you should first note the warnings of Dr Lakshman Karalliedde, a toxicologist for the Health Protection Agency who tells us that you could be getting a dose of Viagra or arsenic with your daily plant fix.
