Hello and welcome to the AboutMyGeneration May Newsletter

April has been another bumper month in terms of new members joining the ranks of AMG and we send you all a very warm welcome.  As you can see from the list below we have plenty of new articles, offers and competitions for you again this month.

We are very happy to include contributions from members on the site, so if there is anything you would like to tell us about, any suggestions or thoughts on topics you would like us to cover, please just send me an email. Last month a member asked for the list of contents to be hyperlinks, which would make it easier to move around the Newsletter. Well, we are still working on it and hope to have it done for the next edition.

Just a reminder that the AMG Crocus Walk, to raise funds for research into breast cancer, will be taking place on Saturday May 23rd.  We would be delighted to welcome any AMG members who would like to join us. For more details click here... or email me at Peter@aboutmygeneration.com

Best wishes

Chris the EditorThe Editor's Diary
updated 1st May 2009

In this edition, 'I'm in Claridges, get me out of here!' - but seriously, a cup of tea for a good cause is livened up by the appearance of a king from the jungle. During the month two major wardrobe malfunctions may be a sign that it's time to slow down. She visits a restaurant famous for the antics of a tennis player, where the match ended with a score of Love All and the prize arrived nine months later. However the purpose of her visit was to find out how to remain thin not get fat. It was then on to a gem of a place that has also increased her 'cool quotient' with her daughter. On the home front her other daughter's wedding plans gather pace with a lot of discussion about the guest list... not for the wedding but for the hen night.

Breakthrough Breast CancerJoin the AMG Crocus Walk

Help raise funds to fight breast cancer

In memory of a dear friend, Jean Gooch, that we lost to breast cancer last year, the AMG team has organised the Crocus Walk to raise essential funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Many AMG members will have been affected by breast cancer in some way and so we are asking you to join, or sponsor, our Crocus Walk which will be taking place at Shipbourne in Kent on Saturday 23rd May 2009.

As well as raising funds and celebrating those we remember and love, it will, hopefully, be good fun and a chance to spend time with old friends and make new ones.  So please help us make a real difference to the 46,000 women diagnosed with Breast Cancer each year and join, or sponsor, our Crocus Walk.

Host a tea party and raise vital funds for people with Diabetes

Martine McCutcheon, and Eamonn Holmes are just two celebrities urging the great British public to stick the kettle on in a bid to raise funds for people with diabetes.  They are both actively supporting the Care for a Cuppa campaign by Diabetes UK to raise funds to support vital research projects.

Supporting the Care for a Cuppa campaign is your chance to make a real difference to the lives of people with diabetes.

Back AdviceReach for your Rake...
but Save the Strain

Top tips to get you back on track and gardening this summer, from Back Advice Web Site

Eighty per cent of people in the UK suffer with back pain, according to a recent survey. Yet, despite its many health benefits, more than half of adults over 35 reckon that their pain is caused by the nation’s favourite pastime…gardening.

It’s important to remember that gardening can be just as challenging as any other exercise and, unless steps are taken to protect the body, different muscles and joints can be put under strain.  So before you reach for the rake, why not take a look at the handy health commandments that have been put together by www.backadvice.info to help you protect your back.

In this month's edition, he finds a port, not in a storm, but on a long hot summer's afternoon. After a long wait he finally finds some Cathars that remind him of being in a maze. He's then 'Gone for a Burton', but has he got the bottle? You bet he has and a very good one it is! As the month progresses his liver starts to feel the strain, but help is at hand with something that contains milk, but not as we know it. A fine bouquet arrives from down under that's positively bursting with... well read the column to find out. He is back in Port(o) to hear the good news about 2007 and finally he tries something in a bar that is tall and sophisticated but will not get him into trouble
