Hello and welcome to the AboutMyGeneration May newsletter
Our membership continued to rise in April and the more people that join the community the better it will become. So why not invite some friends to join AMG? You can either use the 'Invite a Friend' facility on the left hand side of the AMG screen or just send an email to your friend with the web address.
AMG Live
Thanks to all of you that responded with feedback to the idea of having a Members' get together. We have started to formulate some possible suggestions for events and details of these will be published later in the year.
Charities and Volunteering
Our philosophy at AMG is all about keeping active, getting involved and making a contribution to life. So starting this month, we will be expanding the Volunteering and Charities section of our New Horizons channel.
We know that many of you have already met great personal challenges to raise funds for good causes. So why not inspire other people to have a go by telling them your story? Over the next few weeks we will be giving you a few insights including Penny Bridgewaters fascinating diary of volunteering at an orphanage in Peru and Judith Pattens amusing account of her first skydive at the age of 65.
We would also like to hear from you if you would like to publicise your charity or are looking for volunteers for a specific project. This need not be a fund-raising project and could, for example, include educational activities that require a team effort. In fact our first AMG Live event could well be a volunteering day - but more about that at a later date.
The Great Summer Draw and Competitions Galore
At last it seems that summer has finally arrived and to help you get the most enjoyment from the sunny season AMG has teamed up with some great names to put together a range of goodies for you to win in the Get Ready for Summer prize draws.

For the Baby Boomer generation Catherine King is an inspiration. At a time in her life when many people's thoughts would be turning to retirement, Catherine launched herself into a literary career and is now a highly successful author. Her second book, Silk and Steel, is a powerful tale of bitter revenge, sweet retribution and one womans fight for survival and was short-listed for the 2008 Romantic Novel of the Year Award.
