Hello and welcome to the AboutMyGeneration July newsletter

New Affiliation
A number of our Members have asked us to affiliate with Moonpig. This company can provide you with a personal greeting card with a difference. You pick your card (it can be funny, rude, whatever, from a choice of about 7000). You then input the name and address of your friend, loved one or colleague and Moonpig will customise the card, embedding the name of the recipient in the message, and post it for you. Competitions Galore
There are more great prizes for the July competitions. You are going to have to hurry for these first two as the closing date is 9th July but there are tickets for the British International Motor Show Music Festival and the British International Motor Show. And if you want to be ready to chill your Champagne and Strawberries for Wimbledon next year we have a Lec Tabletop Drinks Fridge. Upcoming during July
There are a number of upcoming items that will be published on the AMG site during July. These include a report on a fantastic new restaurant in London's Old Brompton Road called Ambassade De L'ile ( http://www.ambassadedelile.com ). A review of Glynn Christian's fascinating book 'How to Cook Without Recipes' and a piece on the opening of 'Zorro the Musical' featuring music by the world famous Gypsy Kings. Also look out for our first impressions of Fred. Olsen's newly enlarged and renovated ship, Braemar.

 The Motor Show Music Festival

Blondie is just one of the rock legends that will be appearing at The Music Festival taking place in the specially created riverside concert venue at Excel in London. A collection of world-famous live acts will perform at the dockside arena each night as part of the Motor Show. Also featured in the star-studded line up are UB40, Status Quo, Squeeze, Here and Now 80s Tour (featuring Bananarama, Belinda Carlisle, Paul Young, Toyah, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Midge Ure and Nick Heyward) Deep Purple and Jools Holland featuring Marc Almond. Alice Cooper, Chicago and Meat Loaf (with special guest Arno Carstens).
Music Festival tickets will be sold separately but include free access to The British International Motor Show on the day of the concert giving you two shows for the price of one, saving between £10 to £14.

Big Band and swing is making a big come back. Weve had the Opera Babes, the Winehouse jazz vixen now its Debbie Curtis, the mistress of swing.
Following the success of last year's London Palladium performance, the first of its kind in nearly sixty years and the follow up at Her Majestys Theatre, Debbie will be leading another Sunday night swing session on August 3rd 2008.
The all male band, led by Debbie, is made up of the best in the business and a team of specialist swing dancers, Hobson's Choice. The atmosphere is completed by The Re-enactors, dressed in uniform and civilian clothing from the era, plus a touch of comedy from Viv the Spiv. Special guests for the night is Norwegian star of stage and screen Corey Conradi plus in band vocalist Iain Ewing.
They were dancing in the aisles at the first show at the Palladium last year and the standing ovation said it all.
