December Newsletter
AboutMyGeneration
Hello and welcome to the AboutMyGeneration December newsletter

Again a special welcome to the many new members who joined during November, swelling the membership by more than a third. As the number of members continues to rise we have seen the appearance of new Groups and Blogs. The more people that join the AMG community the more interesting it will become, so why not invite some of your friends to join?

Lots of new information on the site again this month including reviews of the Borough Market Gastrotour and a selection of Montana Wines. There are also a few suggestions for Christmas dining including the perfect cheeses for Christmas from the British Cheese Board and the best value Crackers from Which?.  You will also find some great Christmas gift ideas from the Crisis Cookbook to vouchers for Odeon Cinemas, gastronomic tours and Health Spas world wide.  We are adding to our Christmas channels all the time, so keep checking.

With three great competitions to enter you could win a month's supply of Perfectil Platinum Tablets to make your skin radiant, the MindFit software to exercise the biggest muscle in your body, your Brain and an electonic Sudoku game. Also look out for a mid month competition, the clue to the prize is that you will win it just in time for Burns Night (it's not a haggis). Two competitions, for three bottles of Harveys Sherry and Acdoco cleaning materials, that started during November are closing on 11th December so that the prizes arrive in time for Christmas.

Also don't forget the Public Groups, several members have started their own Groups now alongside 'Travel Mates'. So why not join one or more or even start your own? You will meet like minded people and be able to swap views, messages and pictures.

If there are topics or articles that you would like covered on AMG then please mail me peter@aboutmygeneration.com

Kind regards and a very happy Christmas and New Year to everyone

Christmas Gifts - Some great ideas

Christmas Gifts - Some great ideas

You know what its like. That special event for a loved one is looming up and you haven't got a clue about what to buy as a present.

So AMG has been seeking out some gift ideas that may just spark your imagination. The newly formulated Gift Section has a range of suggestions including books, DVDs and a number of intriguing and unusual items. These include a personalised bottle of champagne where you design the label, presentation boxes of sweets from your childhood (you must remember Sherbert Dabs and Space Dust), a copy of an historic newspaper for the birthdate of the recipient and vouchers for a gastronomic tour of London’s famous food markets.

Click here... to go to the Gift Section and here... to go to the AMG Marketplace.

Groups, Blogs and the Forum - Your chance to communicate
Groups, Blogs and the Forum - Your chance to communicate

We highlighted Public Groups last month. The concept of Public Groups is to have a central point where people with similar interests can swap messages, views and pictures. Most popular of these is Travel Mates for the single traveller. During the last month several other Groups have been set up including Baby Boomer Travel Companions for couples who are looking for travel partners and Surrey / West Sussex Friends as a localised social group.

Many people who would like to meet other people might find sending others a Private Message daunting so the Groups are one, low key way to start making those connections. Posting on the forum and publishing a blog is another easy and informal way of communicating and getting to know other members.

On the subject of the Blog, one of our members, Martinp is writing a blog about many people's dream, starting a small vinyard in New Zealand. The vines have only just been planted and he is telling us about his fascinating and ongoing journey complete with pictures so we can track progress over the coming months. Click here... to read the Blog. The vineyard is in the grounds of Martin's B & B. So if you are in New Zealand you can also stay and see the vines growing first hand, click here... for more info.

So if you want to meet up with other people but don't want to start sending Private Messages join in with the Groups, Forums or Blogs.

Also for your Friends and Family why not publish a Round Robin on the site so that they can read your News and see your Pictures. Click here... for instructions on how to create your own, fully secure, Round Robin. You can also find these instructions under Help and FAQs on the web site.
