Love at First Bite

The Wellington Restaurant’s Seductive Valentine’s Menu

Although Shakespeare might have been adamant that music was the food of love, if you’re after something a little more substantial this Valentine’s Day, look no further than the stunning new restaurant at the iconic Wellington Club. Not only can you dine surrounded by a priceless collection of contemporary art from the likes of Damien Hirst no less, you can also enjoy a special set menu made with an array of classic aphrodisiacs designed to melt even the hardest heart.

Maestro Brett Duarte, formerly executive chef of the Gaucho Group, draws on all his culinary artistry to create this sumptuous three-course feast.

Begin your evening with a choice of delectable starters including vitamin E-packed asparagus served here with grilled pancetta & hollandaise. The main course options are equally as irresistible: protein- and zinc-rich fillet of beef with roasted tiger prawns, triple cooked chips & chimichurri or Roscoff onion and luscious fig tart with black truffle, mozzarella & watercress emulsion.

To finish, Brett skilfully combines two classic aphrodisiacs – caffeine-enriched chocolate and stimulating chilli – to create a dessert which is definitely worth the wait: chocolate iced parfait, mousse, ganache & chocolate & chilli crumble.

Or perhaps the vanilla panacotta with strawberries and pomegranate –the latter the symbol of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love herself – is more to your taste?

Available on 14th February only, the Wellington Restaurant’s Valentine’s Menu is priced at just £49 per head, inclusive of a glass of champagne on arrival.

The sommelier will be delighted to recommend a suitable pairing from the eclectic wine list, whilst expert mixologists are on hand to create standout serves to further fan the flames of passion.

All in all, what’s not to love?
