Carluccio’s Funghi Foraging Course

Carluccio’s is celebrating the majestic mushroom with a season devoted to all things funghi – as well as mushroom specials across the restaurants, Italian artisan produce in their shops and online, there’s a bespoke foraging course/workshop happening

Carluccio’s Mushroom Foraging Workshop

Explore the beautiful Essex countryside and celebrate mushroom season with Carluccio’s Mushroom Foraging Workshop. This unique one-day mushroom course on Sunday, 13 October, in collaboration with the 54-acre Lambourne End Centre for Outdoor Learning, features a day dedicated to fantastic funghi with forest foraging and a fabulous lunch.

With over 18 species of mushrooms to learn about, the hands-on activities will leave you feeling confident about collecting and, most importantly, eating wild mushrooms. The day will begin with an educational workshop about wild mushrooms, distinguishing between which varieties are edible or not. For lunch, a three-course mushroom feast will be served to showcase the versatility of cooking with fresh, wild mushrooms.

Afterwards, walk-off lunch and put your knowledge to the test, with a guided mushroom hunt around the beautiful, earthy fields of Lambourne End where you can collect your own mushrooms before being shown how to cook a simple wild mushroom dish. All guests will receive a copy of Antonio’s ‘Mushrooms’ cookbook to help put those newly learnt skills into practice at home.
