THIS FATHER’S DAY, the ’007 IT’S CHEESY’ is the Perfect Pizza for your Pop

At Lamezia Pizzeria Islington, Dads eat free on Father’s Day, June 16th while the limited edition 007 pizza is available 1st – 30th June

Recognising every Dad’s unspoken desire to be the next James Bond, his yearning for world domination, his stylish but classic wardrobe (think dad jeans), and his insatiable appetite for some spicy sausage coupled with an unlimited repertoire of cheesy jokes, Lamezia has created the ultimate pizza for your pop this Father’s Day.

Named the ’007, IT’S CHEESY’ the pillowy soft sourdough base is fermented for 36 hours then topped with all the nutrition a Dad needs to embark on his mission to solve the disappearance of Soviet ballistic missiles: tomato, creamy melted mozzarella, grilled mushrooms, dabs of super spicy Calabrian N’duja, torn fresh bufala and a scattering of bright green basil.

Could there be a better way for your Dad to channel his inner 007 this Father’s Day?

On Father’s Day, Sunday 16thJune, Dads eat free at Lamezia when eating with at least one of his children. Ts&Cs: Prior booking is essential. Offer available on Sunday 16thJune, 2019 only.

The ‘007, IT’S CHEESY’ sourdough pizza is a limited edition pizza created by and available at Lamezia Islington only from 1st – 30th June.

Lamezia Islington is a pizza & fresh pasta restaurant run by Maria Dell’Aquila (29). It has been nominated for a British Restaurant Award 2019. Now celebrating ten years on Holloway Road, Lamezia – to those in the know – is arguably one of the best, if rarely-publicised, pizzerias in all London. This is where the now ubiquitous N’duja pizza originated a decade ago before anyone else had heard of such a thing. And where ‘La Vegana’ was first created and served way back at the start of the vegan movement. Many have imitated.

All-day alfresco dining is now available with the recent addition of outside chairs and tables. Paying homage to her parents and the legacy left to her, Maria Dell’aquila has chosen this summer’s trending colour palette for her interiors – soothing pinkish terracotta walls create a warm, inviting space. Family photographs and ‘objets’ brought over from the southern Italian city of Lamezia are dotted around shelves and walls creating a sense of pride and place. The whole effect speaks to the original Italian trattorria.

The family’s great sense of humour comes through in touches such as candles placed whimsically in Chianti bottles – a nod to the past but also a genuine delight to see when all lit at night. In spring, tables and chairs on the pavement outside will allow for alfresco lunches and dining or simply a mid-morning cup of Italian coffee.
