Devon’s The Ginger Peanut opens elegant private dining room

The Restaurant with rooms in Bampton adds a beautiful space for cosy and intimate dinners plus all new summer menu

Since its official opening in April 2018 Bampton’s restaurant with rooms, Peter Mundy at The Ginger Peanut, has quickly become a favourite country eatery and bolthole for those seeking unpretentious and relaxed dining and accommodation. Now, as well as the popular main restaurant, a new dining room caters for up to 10 people wanting to entertain in privacy – whether a family outing, special occasion, treat or working supper.

The room is comfortably furnished, with velvet upholstered chairs, a small library full of books and that all important ambient mood lighting. Those who want to continue their experience can retire to one of the five lovely bedrooms within this restored Georgian coaching inn.

Award winning chef and proprietor, Peter Mundy, has launched a new summer dining menu, with tempting options such as locally sourced asparagus with duck egg and a truffle mayonnaise or oriental tuna salad with honey and soy and a lime emulsion. Heartier appetites will appreciate their mouth-watering steaks with twice cooked chips! A good choice of puddings include lemon tart with clotted cream ice cream and mango salsa.

The Ginger Peanut makes an ideal base for exploring the countryside of Devon and Somerset, as it is situated between Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks.

Double rooms at The Ginger Peanut cost from £76.50 per night, with continental or hearty Devon breakfast an extra £10 per person. Dinner is £20 for two courses, £30 for three courses, excluding beverages. The restaurant also serves lunches.
