Cottons Notting Hill on the search for UK-based Caribbean Artists

Cottons Caribbean Restaurant and Rum Shack in Notting Hill is undergoing a UK-wide search for Caribbean artists based in the UK who might like to display their art at the restaurant in September

A series of art exhibitions, curated by Barbados-born Kellie Every, will kick off on Thursday 17th May and Cottons is asking for submissions from Caribbean artists who might like to display their art in the fourth and final exhibition*.

Supporting awareness of working Caribbean artists in the UK, Art with Kellie – featuring Kellie’s own abstract paintings will be the first in the series, launching with a private view on Thursday 17th May.

Kellie Every said: “I have always been in love with expressing myself visually, whether I realised it or not at the time. Art is all around us, and it is our job to recreate that in whatever form that may be.”

Following Kellie’s display the following shows will take place:

  • Photography By Alyssa Kirton; Barbados: Mon 25 Jun to – Sun 29 Jul
  • Double Photography Show: Laura & Seraphina Matthew; St Vincent & The Grenadines / Dominica; Mon 30th Jul – Sun 26th Aug
Call for Caribbean Artists Submissions

Cottons is on the look out for one further Caribbean artist who might like to show their work in Notting Hill. Submissions should be made to Deadline to apply is 31st July 2018. Artists must be Caribbean in origin.
