Japanese Tradition Blossoms at Sakagura

In the spirit of the Hanami, Sakagura creates a month-long cherry blossom takeover

Known for its authentic Japanese cuisine and sake bar, this spring, Sakagura is celebrating the iconic cherry blossom (sakura) season, by transforming the restaurant into a Japanese wonderland, blanketed in beautiful pink flowers.

The arrival of spring is marked with one of Japan’s most ancient traditions, hanami (花, “flower viewing”), a celebration dedicated to cherry blossom and the happiness and enjoyment inspired by seeing it in full bloom. Year on year, families and friends across Japan gather together under the blossoming trees to enjoy picnics, companionship and the beauty and tranquility of the sakura (cherry blossoms).

Sakagura will be dressed in pink blossom clouds which will be suspended from the ceiling and central dining. The exclusive takeover is set to be unveiled on 2nd April and will remain on display until 31st April.

If drinking in a beautiful, Japanese-inspired setting wasn’t enough, guests can also sample a bespoke, limited-edition Hanami cocktail, ‘Time for Sakura’, launching in honour of the season. Sip on a beautiful mix of maraschino cherry liqueur, Tarusake, Choya, extra year plum wine and Peychaud bitter, with each glass finished with a hand painted Japanese kanji “haru” – meaning spring, priced at £13.

For anyone who is a little peckish, guests can also indulge from their delicious new Ishiyaki Stone Steak Menu, where diners can grill your steak just the way they like it on a hot piping lava stone.

Reserve your table & dine under a canopy of cherry blossoms:
