The award-winning School of Artisan Food and Ye Olde Bell, a beautiful 17th century hotel and spa, are offering the perfect foodie getaway this summer

The ‘Make the Most of Summer’ package includes the Introduction to Ice Cream Making course [] on Thursday 21 June at the School, based in the former fire stables in a beautiful secluded countryside setting, in the midst of the Welbeck Estate, Nottinghamshire.

The offer includes an overnight stay and traditional English breakfast at the nearby Ye Olde Bell Hotel in the rural village of Barnby Moor on Wednesday 20 June or Thursday 21 June.

The course is delivered by tutor Kitty Travers, founder of London’s La Grotta Ices, renowned for her creative use of flavour, mastery of technique and commitment to natural ingredients, making her the go-to modern ice cream expert in the UK.

She will teach students how to create eight different types of vanilla ice cream using a range of techniques to demonstrate how each one can influence the texture and flavour of the ice cream and how to incorporate seasonal flavours into ice creams, granitas and sorbets.

The course runs from 9.30am to 5pm, and includes a buffet style lunch prepared by the School’s team of chefs.

The hotel is on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire has been lovingly restored and renovated by its current owners. It features 59 beautiful rooms, suites and lodges, all individually styled with period furniture, luxurious fabrics and contemporary bathrooms.

Dining at Ye Olde Bell ranges from traditional classics and modern British dishes served in either elegant Restaurant 1650 or the more relaxed St Leger Bistro and Bar to hearty Sunday roasts and traditional afternoon teas.

Last year the hotel opened a new multi million pound spa, which includes a host of thermal experiences, to stimulate the body and mind, indoor/ outdoor vitality pool, the delicious Herb Garden Brasserie, gorgeous alpine inspired outdoor relaxation area, individually style treatment rooms and hair and beauty salon.

Ye Olde Bell

Ye Olde Bell Hotel & Spa a privately owned 59 room country hotel dating back to the 17th Century.
