You can, in Portland

Connecting Londoners with the people and products of Portland, Oregon. 19 April – 7 May 2018. Units 7 and 8, Dray Walk, The Old Truman Brewery, Shoreditch, London

Word on the street this spring is You Can, In Portland. The creative capital of the Pacific Northwest is bringing some of its most inspired products – and the people who design, create and celebrate them – to East London for a multifaceted, 3-week takeover at The Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch.

With free vegan tattoos and intimate DJ gigs, tea spirits sampling and spoken word slams, a showcase of Portland-made goods and fine urban wines – and the opportunity to ride a bike from LHR to PDX – this portal to Portland is sure to intrigue and inspire.

You Can, In Portland (#YouCanInPortland) features a pop-up shop and a series of events, including talks with leading designers and entrepreneurs, live mural making, craft beer sampling, and more*.

The public is welcome to enjoy the pop-up’s creative lounge space to work or play. Free coffee samples will be offered and Portland makers will be available for casual conversation in addition to scheduled events.

Pedal to Portland: The Portland experience takes off on two wheels with a weekend celebration in partnership with Travel Oregon of Delta Air Lines’ nonstop flight from London Heathrow to Portland, Oregon. From Thursday 19 April to Sunday 22 April, visitors to You Can, In Portland in Dray Walk can pedal part of the 4,910 mile distance from London to Portland on some rather unusual – albeit static – bikes. Lucky riders will have the chance to win on-the-spot prizes, as well as to be entered to win one of five pairs of round-trip tickets to America’s bicycle capital.

Delta’s nonstop flight from London Heathrow to Portland International Airport resumes on 4 May and operates four times a week until 26 October 2018.
