January no longer has to be a dread-filled month! Ginuary and Lumiere Lights are here to save our souls

Lambeth-based restaurant and bar, Florentine, has put together a glowing line-up of food and drink activities including punch brunches and dinners in the dark to carry you through into warmer brighter days… eventually

Florentine restaurant and bar, located near to London’s buzzing Southbank, is turning Dry January on its head and riding the Ginuary wave with a line-up of gin-focused events and tastings to inspire you throughout the month of January. Coupled with Ginuary, Florentine will also be celebrating the Festival of Light, Lumiere, with a month-long schedule of activities to see you through to brighter days.

Ginuary – Beefeater

Marking the antithesis of Dry January, Ginuary is a celebration of a fantastically versatile spirit, designed to help people discover new flavours, styles of gin, gin-based drinks and even gin-inspired dishes. All this, you can discover at Florentine throughout January, and beyond, in partnership with Beefeater Gin, locally distilled minutes from Florentine and the restaurant’s signature pour.

Gin Flight Night Series

Jumping feet first into the spirit of things, Florentine and Beefeater will co-host a series of Gin Flight Nights, launching 16th January. Priced at £20 per person, follow-up events will take place on 29th January, 20th February and 13th March, from 6pm – 7:45pm. Led by Beefeater’s brand ambassador, guests can shape their palate with flavours from Beefeater London Dry, Beefeater 24 and Burrough’s Reserve, an ultra-premium gin rested ex-bordeaux wine casks. Washed down with tasters and sharers to complement each of the tastings, guests will experience the distinctive notes of vanilla, citrus and gentle spice, to name but a few.

Punch Brunch

Delivering an all-time weekend favourite with a twist, Florentine’s famed Beefeater ‘Punch Brunch’ will remain firmly on the menu as a signature offering. Available every Saturday, from 11am until 5pm, kick start the weekend with a Bottomless Beefeater gin punch (£15 supplement), alongside your pick of the brunch dishes from the à la carte menu.

Because one month is not enough, Florentine will be rolling out a calendar of events throughout the year, to include discounted tours of locally-based Beefeater distillery gin cocktail masterclasses, bar-tastings and gin dinners for those in the know! Stay tuned to find out more @florentineldn

Lumiere Light Festival

Three installations by award-winning sculptor, Mark Beattie MRBS, working with various metals and more recently neon, will sit pride of place at Florentine, showcased within the restaurant alongside illuminating floral displays by Chic Flower Designs. Mark Beattie will be giving a talk on art and working with light at Florentine form 7pm on 23rd January.

Dinner in the Dark

In celebration of the annual Light Festival, Florentine will be hosting an exclusive 3-course ‘Dinner in the Dark’ on Tuesday 23rd January, priced at £35 per person with a welcome introduction by Mark Beattie. The menu will include smoked burrata with pistachios, braised ox cheek with truffle mash and a flaming rum and chocolate mousse. Designed to heighten your sense and culinary taste buds, guests can look forward to dinner brought to life by with candle light and luminous table decor.

With an enticing line- up of events and exhibitors, there really is no excuse not to jump feet first into the New Year, at Florentine.
