39 Steps Coffee Haus launches in Soho, London this January

There are many coffee houses in the world. There aren’t many who roast for themselves, grind fresh for each cup and brew with artisan precision. There are even fewer who can tell you the name of the independent farmer who grew the beans, which way the slope faced and how long the beans ripened for

There is only one however, which guides every one of those 39 steps from bean on the bush to the cup in your hand, where obsession with quality and flavour meet the ethical life in perfect symphony. It’s at 8 D’Arblay Street, Soho. Welcome to 39 Steps Coffee Haus.

Launching this January 2018, open seven days a week, Monday – Friday 07:00 – 21:00hrs, Saturday – Sunday 08:00 – 21:00, London’s finest coffee haus will accommodate just 25 covers and will cater for every coffee lover and caffeine fixer in town.

Bringing to London the very best in experience and knowledge, Head Roaster, Jens Rettig lays special emphasis on the quality of his coffee, buying his beans from independent local growers in India, Brazil, Mexico and El Salvador, all hand selected just for him. Each farm he visits, assessing the cultivation of seeds to the picking and packing process ensuring it is finely tuned. With beans ready for roasting at peak condition, for as long as it takes for maximum flavour, Jens turns his attention to the unique brewing and serving technique before delivering an exquisite cup of coffee to his customers.

Sip and savour on the stars of the show at 39 Steps. Take time to select your perfect cup whilst observing the brewing techniques at the bar: Pour Over, Syphon, Chemex and French Press. Don’t miss the coffee specials including hand brews, cold brews, nitro brews, coffee smoothies and coffee milkshakes alongside expertly made cold pressed juices using the best quality in season fruit and vegetables.

An all-day dusk until dawn food menu will feature a daily bake selection and eggs-any-way (with various toppings) through to homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and freshly-made cakes and desserts. Highlights include: pulled pork panini with tomato and cheddar cheese; slow-cooked lamb burger with spiced tahini yoghurt and caramelised onions served in a brioche bun and smoked salmon rolls stuffed with beetroot and lentils. Worth saving room for are the sweet treats: orange, honey and cinnamon cheesecake; bitter almond and caramel Eton Mess with chocolate ganache and Chia, Tahini and Berry bites.

Whether you’re in the business for a whistle stop coffee fix on route to the office, a leisurely breakfast, a lunchtime meeting or an afternoon treat, this coffee haus has got you covered every step of the way.
