Eating Italy launches Evening Tour in Florence

Less than a year after the launch of its first food tour in Florence, Eating Italy is thrilled to introduce a second tour in the Tuscan capital which is best known for its art galleries and incredible architecture

While the inaugural tour “The Other Side of Florence” runs during the day in the neighborhood of Oltrano, the new tour departs in the evening and takes visitors through the area of Santo Spirito. The Florence Sunset Food Tour will commence on 28th of April and is now bookable on Eating Italy’s website.

We were positively surprised by the success of our first tour in Italy outside of Rome,” says Kenny Dunn, Managing Director of Eating Europe Tours, the parent company of Eating Italy. “It clearly shows that both Florence and food tours are in demand and on many travelers’ itineraries. We are looking forward to welcoming visitors on our new tour which is filled with authentic Tuscan food and wine, local people, and fascinating Florentine stories”.

During the 3.5hrs tour, guests will experience Florence’s nightlife and walk the cobblestoned streets of hip Santo Spirito while enjoying plenty of drinks and artisan foods at seven different stops. Highlights of the Florence Sunset Food Tour include shopping for groceries the Italian way at an alimentari (deli), watching how Italian cocktails are made (Americano, Negroni, Negroni Spagliato), and discovering the secret behind the famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina during a live cooking demonstration (plus sampling the steak afterward). Culinary delights range from truffle cheese & wild boar salami to Tuscany’s celebrated wine, Chianti.

Tours run Tuesday to Saturday, 5.30pm – 9pm, €95 (adults only).

Eating Italy will also offer a Cooking Class in Florence from 29th of April, 2017.
Selected dates, 9.30am – 2pm, €85 adults, €65 (adolescents), €45 (children).

About Eating Europe Tours

The company was founded in Rome in 2011 by American native, Kenny Dunn. His informal culinary strolls with friends and family became the Taste of Testaccio Food Tour focusing on real food, real people and real neighbourhoods. In 2013 another two tours in Rome were added, so was the first London Food Tour in the city’s hip East End. Since then, Eating Europe Tours has also successfully launched in Amsterdam and Prague.

The company’s mission is to leave travellers with an unparalleled, non-touristy, food-related experience in undiscovered neighbourhoods across Europe.
