Pork scratchings, for decades, have been cooked just the once, made from imported pigs, too fatty and hard to be combined happily with chocolate, or other dips.
But Mr Trotter has, since launching in 2011, been created from 100% British pigs, all free to roam the field or barn. Their skin is thicker and more uneven than imported pork, and therefore undergoes a triple cooking process which adds porkiness and crunch.
Dipped into Green & Black’s or Cadbury’s Bournville dark chocolate, they hit the spot – for an oinkingly delicious chocolate experience.
Heating up Mr Trotter’s Cracklings, Original, English Mustard and Jalapeno Chilli for 3 minutes in a 150degrees oven, and then dipping them in lemon mayonnaise, apple or gooseberry sauce or guacamole is a winner.
