On Lake Constance, Mainau Island has glorious lake and mountain scenery, as well as special child-friendly playgrounds. Europa-Park: The Perfect Short Break Destination

With its thrilling rides and 15 European-themed areas, Europa-Park has over 100 attractions and shows – and all are included in the price of entry! New in 2017: A new major attraction is set to take off at the best theme park in the world. Project V, the largest Flying Theater in Europe, carries its passengers away to the most beautiful and fascinating places across the continent. The park’s five 4* themed hotels make Europa-Park a unique short break destination in the border triangle of Germany, France, and Switzerland.

Mainau Island: Flowers and family fun

Set on Lake Constance, one of Europe’s most beautiful lakes, Mainau is renowned for its flower-filled gardens. But there is also plenty for families with younger children. Blumi’s Lakeside World is perfect for letting off steam, while Water World is a challenging, but safe, adventure playground. For 2 to 4-year-olds, the miniature village has tiny huts to hide in and a wooden railway. And in one of Germany’s largest butterfly houses, children love getting close to 80 species of exotic butterflies. Good for 2 adults and their children under 15, the Family Ticket (41 EUR) represents excellent value. Furthermore, kids under the age of 12 are free.

Open year-round
