#rawwineweek

A week long natural wine bonanza around the capital culminates in the RAW WINE fair and pop-up at The Store

With over 150 growers heading to London from around the globe for a two-day celebration of all things natural at RAW WINE, we thought why confine the fun to the fair? This year sees the launch of #rawwineweek where we’ll be carrying the love of the low-intervention organic, biodynamic and natural wines coming to the fair, out into the wider world through a variety of mini off-events hosted by London bars and restaurants. Running from the 7th – 13th March, the grower-makers attending RAW WINE will be on show throughout this fine capital with specials by the glass, wine list takeovers and wine pairing dinners with the growers themselves.

A selection of the brilliant eateries and wine bars confirmed so far include: 40 Maltby St (Bermondsey), Antidote (Soho), Brawn (Columbia Road), Burgess and Hall (Forest Gate), Ducksoup (Soho) & Raw Duck (Hackney), Elliot’s Café (London Bridge), Frenchie (Covent Garden), Passione Vino (Shoreditch), Sager + Wilde (Hackney Road and Paradise Row), Terroirs Wine Bar (Charing Cross) and The Culpeper (Spitalfields).

Also included in the line-up of #rawwineweek goings-on is the fair’s very own pop-up – the Pop-Up(stairs) – located on the first floor of The Store on the Strand, where the fair is taking place this year. This weekend wine extravaganza will feature extraordinary wines at exceptional prices – the plan being to keep the natural wine love going late into the night with great tunes, great chat, great wines and great company.

The weekend extravaganza will feature 4 days of nightly specials. Confirmed so far is a launch party in partnership with GENUWINE who’ll be taking over on Friday 10th March for an evening of wining and grinding to the best R&B, soul and hip-hop classics, and an evening of SOMM-THING EXTRAORDINAIRE on Sunday 12th March featuring 5 of the UK’s top sommeliers who will be coming together to share their personal favourites from the fair under a single roof. All are movers and shakers of the on-trade wine scene, pioneering low-intervention organic, biodynamic and natural wine at some of the most renowned establishments in the UK. Join us and experience front-of-house magic by Star Sommeliers: Raphaël Rodriguez (Restaurant Director and Wine Buyer for the michelin-starred Fera at Claridge’s, Mayfair), Bastien Ferreri (Head Sommelier at Frenchie, Covent Garden), Martino Bosco (Head Sommelier at the much-anticipated, soon-to-open Claude Bosi @ Bibendum, Kensington), Ed Thaw (Sommelier at michelin-starred Ellory in Hackney) and Jo Radford (Head Sommelier at Timberyard in Edinburgh).

For a full list of the #rawwineweek & Pop-Up(stairs) specials, keep your eyes peeled by checking the listings on the RAW WINE website. Time to get filling the diary!
