GŌNG launches star bartender nights

Great Mixology at Western Europe’s Highest Bar

GŌNG, the highest bar in Western Europe, will launch its 2016 series of star bartender nights with a visit to London by Zdenek Kastanek. With a celebrated reputation over four continents, he has consistently been a finalist in the most prestigious individual awards, for International Bartender of the Year. Zdenek will be guest bartending between 2-5 March in GŌNG at the five-star Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London. GŌNG is on level 52 of The Shard. Zdenek comes over with head bartender Logan Demmy from 28 HongKong Street in Singapore, which is ranked #7 in the World’s 50 Best Bars. Zdenek has created five new luxury cocktails which he will serve with Christian Maspes, head bartender at GŌNG and the bar team, alongside GŌNG’s original creations and perfected classic serves. More star bartender nights will follow.

The five inventive cocktails are adventurously conceived to offer a sumptuous experience in GŌNG. This modern style of cocktailing with luxurious, bespoke sensations of flavour have won Zdenek his world class status, and place him in high demand as a guest mixologist on private islands and super-yachts.
  • Merchant – Yellow Chartreuse, Plantation Jamaica single island rum, walnut milk syrup, East Imperial Burma tonic water.
  • A Poet’s Cup – Bacardi 8, Mancino Amaranto Rosso vermouth infused with coffee beans, Rinomato, Becherovka.
  • Tuzex – Banana infused Bacardi 8, parsnip purée, lime juice, St George Absinthe.
  • Bird Machine – Hum Botanical Spirit infused with oolong tea, Monkey Shoulder Scotch whisky, pineapple juice.
  • La Hermosa – Bacardi Carta Blanca, Briottet curaçao orange, Manzanilla sherry, orgeat syrup, Yellow Chartreuse.
