Gaudi-inspired packaging from Vilarnau Cava

Introducing the new 2016 Limited Edition Bottles

Following the success of last year’s Gaudi-inspired packaging from Vilarnau, the Cava producer has unveiled their latest eye-catching limited edition bottles. The latest release sees a new take on the Trencadis mosaic used in Catalan modernism, inspired by Barcelona artist Gaudi. The mosaic is created from broken pieces of ceramic tiles to bring the bottles to life in a colourful and traditional way.

Vilarnau Brut Reserva

Made from the traditional Cava Grapes, this is a dry Cava that spends over 15 months on the lees. It offers a wonderful balance of fresh primary aromas and toasty secondary aromas.

The wine is made from a blend of 50% Macabeo, 35% Parellada, and 15% Xarel·lo – ABV 11.5%

Available with an RRP of £11.99 from Ocado, Cambridge Wine Merchants, The Oxford Wine Company, The Jolly Vintner, Bonafide Wines, Wine Direct and Cheers Wine Merchants

AMG Notes: Good notes of green apples on the nose lead to a light, fresh palate with tones of fruit and hints of yeast. It leaves a clean and uplifting palate. Ideal to drink with seafood and charcuterie.

Vilarnau Brut Reserva Rosé

Delicate pink in colour this Cava is a blend of the indigenous Trepat grape and Pinot Noir. Brimming with crunchy red fruit characteristics and refreshing acidity.

Made from a blend of 85% Trepat and 15% Pinot Noir – ABV 12%

Available with an RRP of £11.99 from Ocado, Cambridge Wine Merchants, The Oxford Wine Company, The Jolly Vintner, Bonafide Wines and Cheers Wine Merchants

AMG Notes: Delicate aromas of strawberry and soft fruits in the bouquet develop into a luscious creamy palate and leave a pleasant, lingering finish. Drink as an aperitif or with a paella.
