Kingston’s Food Festival returns from 1 to 9 August with plenty to get the taste buds tingling including: the Big Kingston Market, a food trail, a Children’s Food Festival, food challenges, a Live Food show and Restaurant Week

There will be a bigger than ever Big Kingston Market in the Market Place on 8 and 9 August showcasing local restaurateurs, exciting hot foods, great summer drinks and a host of growers and producers from across Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, alongside a range of gourmet and international cuisines.

The second weekend also brings the free Live Food Show boasting top local chefs as well as the Children’s Food Festival, which will be dishing up a range of delicious treats and hands-on fun for little foodies. Brave gastronomes can put their taste buds to the test in the Extreme Food Challenge, featuring delicacies and bizarre foods from around the globe!

Restaurant Week returns from 1 – 9 August with exclusive offers and special menus at participating local eateries and a host of free and paid for events, including:

3 August, Bitter and Twisted at the Gazebo – a fun night of beer and cider tasting, where local brewers, publicans and cider makers present their chosen tipple to the audience while they taste the drink and then score each presenter on their pitch and the quality of their drink.

4 August, Live on the Terrace – the Riverside Edge Pop Up hosts a special one off free evening event on the terrace with live music from Tim Fulker and Roxanne de Bastion

5th August, Blackdown Artisan Spirits Class – distillers from the award-winning Blackdown Artisan Spirits in West Sussex host a one-off cocktail master class creating unique and inspiring drinks from their own artisan gin, vermouth, vodka and other unique liquors

6th August, Ridgeview English Sparkling Wine and Canape matching – the chance to taste five award winning sparkling wines each perfectly matched with canapés from The Bishop’s kitchen.

7 August, Kingston Food Trail – follow the food trail across the Town Centre and enjoy complimentary food and drink tasters at 17 venues

8 August, Make Your Case – wine tasting ‘punk’ style in the Festival Marquee vintners, sommeliers and wine experts present their favourite wines for the audience to judge – they have just three minutes to do so.
