There’s never been a better build-up to the Rugby World Cup 2015 than at Young’s Pubs this year. Perfectly timed for avid rugby fans that feel five months is just a touch too far away, Young’s Pubs have joined with Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby, to provide the best warm-up action to the more beautiful game, from meeting the legends of rugby to winning tickets to some nail-biting clinches.

Join rugby heroes Phil Vickery MBE, former England hooker Lee Mears, Andy Gomarsall MBE and Tim Stimpson, to name a few, for the regular Players at the Pumps series beginning in April right up until kick-off in September and beyond. Have your pint pulled from the extensive selection of Young’s real ales and London craft beers on offer, as they host a three course sit-down meal of seasonal British dishes, then settle down for an up close and personal Q&A – all for just £35 per person. Tickets can be purchased from each pub by contacting each pub directly. Further dates include:

PLAYERS AT THE PUMPS, from 6.30pm
(£35 per person, incl. three course meal plus a Q&A afterwards)

Further dates until October to be announced in the coming months

There will also be a raffle running throughout Young’s Pubs, throughout April and May, just £5 a ticket might get you to the Rugby World Cup Final, courtesy of Heineken, which includes an overnight stay at boutique hotel The Orange Tree, Richmond whilst other competitions will include your chance to win signed merchandise, tournament tickets and even dinner with a current England player fresh from, hopefully, lifting the cup.

Young’s Pubs aims to raise £100,000 throughout the campaign for Wooden Spoon via ticket sales, an exclusive Wooden Spoon ale created specifically for the partnership alongside raffles and donation boxes. Raising money for the HITZ programme, in association with Premiership Rugby, Young’s Pubs aims to help disadvantaged kids who’ve had a hard start in life a second chance through education and vocational training. Lead ambassador, Phil Vickery MBE is delighted to be partnering with Young’s Pubs and says “it is exciting that two organisations, who are both passionate about what they do, can come together and use the power of rugby to change children’s and young people’s lives”.
