The Aroma Ritual Night with Odette Toilette at Andaz Liverpool Street

Odette Toilette to stage ancient scent ceremonies in Andaz Liverpool Street’s Masonic temple on Tuesday 24th March, 7:00PM

Some of the most ancient and occult uses of fragrance are to be recreated for one night in March, as London based perfume connoisseur Odette Toilette collaborates with Andaz Liverpool Street to stage the Aroma Ritual Night.

The ticketed event, hosted by candlelight in the hotel’s magnificent Masonic temple, will invite the audience to witness and experience re-enactments of five aromatic ceremonies, from the legend of the Mellified Men of Arabia, who consumed fragrant honey until death, to the psychotropic flowers of Ancient Egypt, and the Eleusinian Mysteries of Greece which enacted the story of Persephone’s abduction by Hades.

Each ritual will be explained by Odette with co-host James Craven from Les Senteurs, and brought to life by models dressed in historic costume by east London based Art Macabre, who have staged dramatically themed life drawing events at venues including the Royal Academy and Barts Pathology Museum.

Alongside each ritual, attendees will be offered edibles and drinks created especially for the evening by Andaz Liverpool Street’s chef, Selva Muthusamy.

Peter Morrell, editor of AboutMyGeneration commented, “This is a unique opportunity for people to see inside a Masonic Temple. I have been in this room and the craftsmanship and materials used are stunning. Combine this with the opportunity of learning about the rituals of ancient ceremonies will make it an evening to remember.”

Tickets £25 to include ceremonial edibles from www.odettetoilette.com

About Odette
