Your chance to experience this stunning floral / fruity wine
As part of the Wines of Argentina “Time for Torrontés” summer campaign, La Riojana, Argentina’s leading producer of Torrontés, will be teaming up with London’s hot new Peruvian restaurant, Ceviche on Frith Street, Soho during London Ceviche Week 2012 to promote their Torrontés as a great wine match for ceviche.
London Ceviche Week 2012, which has been created by Ceviche’s owner, Martin Morales, will run from 23rd to 30th June and is the first foodie festival of its kind, coinciding with National Ceviche Day in Peru (28th June). The week itself will involve a series of master classes and demos aiming to entertain and engage people across the capital and to introduce them to the wonders of one of Peru’s favourite national dishes and one of London’s hottest; ceviche.
Throughout this event, La Riojana aims to demonstrate to audiences how their recently launched Raza Signature Series Torrontés Reserva 2011 makes a great wine match with ceviche, as well as offering customers the chance to taste and buy their Viñedos de la Posada Fairtrade Torrontés 2011 whilst dining at Ceviche.
Andrew Maidment, UK and Europe Manager for Wines of Argentina, comments: “We are delighted that La Riojana has taken up this opportunity to promote Torrontés to a wider audience. We already know that Torrontés and ceviche are a match made in heaven, and therefore this will be a fantastic opportunity for a large number of people to discover this perfect match for themselves.”

About La Riojana
La Riojana is located in La Rioja province, northwest Argentina, an area considered as one of Argentina’s most exciting wine regions, well known for producing great quality wines, in particular outstanding Torrontés. All Torrontés produced by La Riojana are produced from Torrontés Riojano, a clone which originates from La Rioja province and is particularly well suited to the climate of the Famatina Valley where the large majority of La Riojana’s vineyards are located.
The new Raza Signature Series range, which includes a Torrontés Reserva and a Malbec Reserva, was launched by La Riojana in May at the London International Wine Fair 2012, and has been created specifically for the UK on-trade and independents.
About Ceviche
Ceviche offers the very best that Peruvian cuisine and drinks have to offer. Created by Martin Morales by sheer frustration that there were no great Peruvian restaurants in Britain, in 2010 he started tweeting about it, creating pop-up restaurants and events and then brought the team together at Ceviche. The restaurant launched in February 2012 and includes a stellar line up of premier league chefs, bar personnel and partners who come from running Nobu, Soho House Group, Le Cordon Bleu Lima, Roka and Zuma Restaurants. Peruvian chefs, Pisco mixologists, waiters and waitresses feature heavily serving delicious ceviches like Don Ceviche and Alianza Lima, tiraditos like Sakura Maru (a Nikkei tiradito named after the first ship that set sail from Japan to Peru in 1899), Pulpo Al Olivo and Drunk Scallops, alongside sizzling beef heart, octopus and chicken anticuchos, Lomo Saltado and Ensalada de Quinoa.
In May 2012 was reviewed by Giles Coren in The Times:
“This place is brilliant. The cooking is super-confident, rare and interesting, the look of the room is great and the bar must be fantastic in the evening, the music is lovely, the staff are incredibly sweet and kind and even the loos are very cute. And it’s cheap. I never really want to go anywhere else again.”
