Step back to the Swinging 60s at the Severn Valley Railway 14th – 16th August

The Severn Valley Railway is taking visitors back in time to the decade of its birth with an action-packed celebration of the swinging 60s from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August.

An intensive service of heritage steam and diesel trains will be running throughout the weekend, taking passengers up and down the 16-mile line from Kidderminster in Worcestershire to Bridgnorth in Shropshire.

A live fashion show will showcase some of the hottest trends of the decade, three replica Italian Job Minis will be on display alongside a range of jukeboxes, a Dalek and an eclectic mix of 60s classic cars. Iconic British transport institution, the London Routemaster Bus will be providing shuttle runs for passengers.

Toes will be tapping all along the line with a wealth of 60s music, including performances from tribute bands The Soda Pops, The Maytones and The Starlings at 3pm on Sunday at Kidderminster. Visitors can also enjoy a tipple at the 60s minibar or pick up authentic bargains thanks to a range of stalls selling memorabilia and vintage clothing from the decade.

Rolling Stones tribute band The Stones will take to the stage at Kidderminster on Friday evening at 8.30pm, while The Who tribute band, The Who 2, will perform on Saturday evening. Both concerts will be followed by an after-show disco and late night bar.

Tickets are from £17.50 in advance or £19 on the day for adults, £11.50 in advance and £12.50 on the day for children under 15, £15.50 in advance or £17 on the day for over 60s and £50 in advance or £55.50 on the day for a family of two adults and up to four children. Evening concert tickets (wristbands) cost £12 and must be purchased in addition to daytime attraction tickets.
