Snuggies and Slankets
The hands-free that keeps you warm
"It couldn’t have arrived at a better time. It is nothing more than an oversized, soft, fleecy blanket with sleeves, but it has cheered up our household enormously. Living in a draughty old house, we have long realised that the only way to watch TV during the colder months, is wrapped in a duvet.
"But the Snuggie has changed all that It keeps you warm as toast while your hands are free. So you can read, eat, knit, drink cocoa or whatever takes your fancy while staying snug".
Chris Hurley has found them to be one of the best Christmas presents ever - to read more click here...

Introducing the MOB Blog
Chris Hurley's Mother of the Bride Diary
With a daughter getting married this summer, I am beginning to realise that weddings are a complicated old business and I clearly have a lot to learn. There are plenty of brides-to-be out there blogging about their big day but mothers-of-the-brides and grooms are nowhere to be seen.
As ideas person, support system, mediator and diplomacy expert, a mother’s work is never done. Ultimately we bear responsibility for the success of the day – not to mention the cost – so it’s time we had our say too.

A relaxing weekend in the Chichester Area
In the rush to visit new, interesting places it’s easy to overlook what is almost on our doorstep. A 90 minute drive from London will take you back centuries to the area around Chichester where history abounds and a sense of calm prevails. Sea birds calling from the salt marshes, sandy beaches, long lazy walks and distant views to the Isle of Wight are the ideal therapy after a long and taxing week in the busy Metropolis.
Peter Morrell and Chris from AMG spent a couple of days exploring this corner of West Sussex. There was no shortage of places to visit and things to do and, with the added bonus of the Indian summer weather, it turned out to be quite idyllic.

Taking Silk
Peter Morrell reviews the fusion restaurant Silk, in the historic Courthouse Hotel
It’s about seven o’clock in the evening and I am sat in the holding cell of a central London court, complete with a bench to lie on and even a loo by the side of it. But I assure you I haven’t committed any crime., The time I am doing is in the bar of the Courthouse Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, previously known as Great Marlborough Street Magistrates Court
Silk, the Hotel restaurant, oozes history. The dining space is crowned with a stunning vaulted glass ceiling and the walls covered in English Oak panelling. Still there are the original judge’s bench, witness stand and dock. which, over the years, have seen a veritable procession of celebrities who have had a brush with the law, including Mick Jagger, Keith Richard and John Lennon.

Editor's Diary
11th March 2010
After a one month break when Chris's life was interupted by inclement weather she is back! In this edition she managed to enjoy some winter sun and while away ate like an Egyptian, drank like an Egyptian and then staggered like an Egyptian. Back in London it was into another warm atmosphere that was more Oompah than Oasis but she did continue the eating and drinking. At the next destination she ends up in the cells before going to court, but at least the food is better than porridge, the normal jail fare. It's then on to a rather grand building at the end of the Strand that should be upside down. After her court appearance she hears about being transported from 'Old Blighty' but at least it's in a more comfortable way. On the home front, the wedding plans expand in line with the cost and if that were not enough daughter number two, who has just had a wisdom tooth extracted, wants a visit from a very rich fairy.

Who’s that Sleeping in my Bed? by Keren Smedley
Coping with the life you didn’t expect when you were younger
One tends to assume that once people reach middle age their relationships will have become settled into a familiar pattern, but this is often not the case at all. Just because we are older, doesn’t mean that there are not complex issues and challenges to be faced. It is just that they are very different from when we were younger.
To help address the type of relationship problems that are specifically likely to bother the over fifties. Keren Smedley has recently written a book, 'Who’s that Sleeping in my bed? - The Art of relationships for grown ups.’ In this book, Keren deals frankly and empathetically with confusion about sex and relationships and provides answers to the questions that people previously have not dared to ask

“Lying in a natural hot spring, surrounded by mountains, gazing up through the sun-dappled tree canopy, can’t be a bad way to spend your 50th birthday. And as the muscles began to recover after five hours on a mountain bike, a grin of contentment spread slowly across my friend Dave’s face”
Jeremy Wright helps a friend celebrate his fiftieth birthday on a mountain bike adventure holiday in the Pyrenees.
